The second edition of the Costa Rica Food & Wine will bring together renown international and national chefs.
This Saturday, September 2, the Costa Rica Food & Wine Festival takes place at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in Escazú starting at 11 a.m. and finishing at 11 p.m. providing 12 hours of an incredible gastronomy experience. The entrance is free of charge and it includes entertainment and kids zone.
The event includes a tasting of a variety of wines and cocktails, a gourmet fair with local artisan products, gastronomy fair and the Visa Infinite Flash Dinners: pop-up dinners in which local and foreign chefs will cook together with just 30 minutes time. This event starts at 8 p.m. and requires a previous reservation by calling 7018-4000.
The first chefs to cook together will be Sebastián La Rocca from culinary consulting company NOMADE and Curtis Duffy, co-owner of Grace restaurant in Chicago, Illinois which has maintained three stars in the Michelin Guide since 2015.
The second team will cook at 8:45 p.m. and is formed by Guatemalan chef Mirciny Moliviatis who takes part of the shows Puro Chef (FoxLife) and Desafío Culinario (Culinary Challenge); she will be joined by Mexican Rodrigo Montesinos who studied in Spain and France, has worked in restaurants such as Kokoxta in Spain and in Costa Rica he shares his delicious dishes at Taller Gastronómico El Punto in Escazú.
Chilean Matías Palomo and Costa Rican José González form the last team; Palomo worked at the world renown restaurant Arzak in Spain, an El Bulli a Michelin 3-star restaurant near the town of Roses, Catalonia, Spain; he opened his own restaurant in Chile, Sukalde in 2006. José González, on the other hand, is the owner of Al Mercat in Barrio Escalante, Costa Rica.
