The Costa Rican company Establishment Labs Holdings began trading their common stock on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the trading symbol “ESTA” following its initial public offering.
Establishment Labs is a global medical technology company that focuses on breast esthetics and reconstruction technologies, it was founded in 2004 by Juan José Chacón Quirós and currently it exports to 60 countries in 5 continents.
“This is an achievement of great recognition, not just for Establishment Labs, but also for Costa Rica, since it reflects the maturity and high competitivity of the national exports sector and the industry in the country”, commented President Carlos Alvarado, after sending his congratulations to the representatives of the companies during a video conference organized by the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE).
“Today’s listing on Nasdaq represents a significant milestone for Establishment Labs and our shareholders,” said Juan Jose Chacón-Quirós, founder and CEO of the company. “It’s an honor to be the first company headquartered in Costa Rica to be listed on a major stock exchange in the United States.”
“Today we reaffirm the strength of our people and the technologies that allow us to offer higher security and better esthetic results for our patients”, concluded Chacon.
