The 8th edition of the Costa Rica Blues Festival is scheduled to take place February 16 at the Costa Rica Sailing Center in Playa Potrero, Guanacaste.

This year the headliner is blues rock guitar legend Walter Trout, and some of the guest bands and artists include The Craig Thatcher Band from Philadelphia, The Sparky Parker Band from Houston, Texas; Grey Gregson from Austin, Texas; The Honky Tonk Knights from Rhode Island, Andy Egert from Switzerland; Donnie Walsh & The Leatherbacks from Canada, Blues Devils from Costa Rica, and many more.

The event like every year will offer not just great music, but great food and fun starting at 11 a.m. and extending through 11 p.m.
For those that want to live the full experience and get ready for the main event there will be a Kickoff party in San Jose, featuring Smikin’ Mo & Blue Devils and Los Neotics on Friday, February 8 at 8 p.m. at Cantina SCCA in San Jose.

The day before the main event there will also be a meet and greet for all those attending the Costa Rica Blues Festival. The meet and greet will be hosted at Walter’s in Tamarindo where attendees will be able to meet the musicians of the Festival and get tickets to the event.

The outdoor concert is organized by Blue Moon Costa Rica and is a Benefit Concert for Abriendo Mentes (Opening Minds), an organization that provides innovative education and community development programs for children and adults from rural/undeserved communities in Guanacaste.

Tickets can be purchased online at https://crbluesfest.com at a cost of $40 per adult and children over 13 years of age; children under the age of 12 attend for free.
