Canadian airline Sunwing, began operations between the Vancounver International Airport and the Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia, Guanacaste, this is the third new flight of the high season that arrives to the city of Liberia, with a weekly frequency.
Sunwing Airlines plans to continue offering these direct flights every Sunday through March 31, 2019, all throughout the high season in Costa Rica.
“Canadian tourists have a big interest in Costa Rica and its different tourist attractions, getting away from the cold winter to be received by the Costa Rican sun motivates hundreds of tourists into choosing Costa Rica as their favorite vacation destination”, commented Cesar Jaramillo, General Manager of CORIPORT, operator of the Daniel Oduber Airport.
Direct flights between Costa Rica and Canada were promoted since 2012 after the signing of an aerial transportation agreement to open the door to commercial flights between both countries without having to go through the United States.
This flight also benefits the economy of hundreds of Guanacaste families that are positively impacted as a result of the increase in the number of tourists in the high season.
