S. Fitzgerald Haney, former ambassador to the United States in Costa Rica, took the second place in the T.V. competition show “Dancing with the Stars – Costa Rica” with a total of 295,967 votes equivalent to 26.6% of the total.

After three months and twelve days of competition, S. Fitzgerald Haney made his debut in the show next to his dancing partner, Lucia Jimenez, back in September 10.

“Fitz” as he became popularly known in the country, won the public over since his first appearance, his charisma, candid personality and work ethic made up for his limited dancing skills specially early in the competition, and we must say his improvement in the dancing floor was evident after each of his presentations. The former ambassador had to master different ballroom rhythms such as Tango, Merengue, Two Step Swing, Salsa, Waltz, among others.

His partner and coach, Lucia, described him as hardworking and perfectionist as well as a fantastic partner who was always smiling. Haney’s family was always there to support him and even danced with him in one of the shows, there is no doubt they are his biggest fans.

The first place in the competition went to local TV host and personality Victor Carvajal.
