Funds raised will be donated to Territorio de Zaguates, a “no-kill shelter”, a non-profit organization locate in a large property in the mountains between Alajuela and Heredia which is home to over 800 stray dogs. The shelter has three main goals, to offer a better quality of life to stray dogs, to promote adoption of unique breeds and to educate on the importance of sterilization and responsible pet tenure.

Because of the large number of dogs they care for and their constant needs Territorio de Zaguate organizes different activities with the help of private companies to raise the necessary funds for the care of the animals.

In Costa Rica the number of stray dogs is huge, the association Rescate Animal estimated in 2015 that this number was close to 2 million.
