Getafe, Spain, Apr 12 (EFE).- Getafe and Villareal scrapped their way to a 1-1 tie in the 31st week of La Liga play at the Alfonso Perez Coliseum in a match during which Argentina’s Mateo Musacchio was seriously injured and numerous yellow cards handed out, preventing the smooth development of the contest.

It was Ikechukwu Uche who got Villareal on the board first on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute after being fouled by Medhi Lacen, but Castro knocked in a great header 12 minutes later to tie things up for the final result.

Meanwhile, Musacchio seriously injured his ankle running for the ball in a chilling development late in the second half, the worst news to come out of a clash in which neither club was able to attain its objective.

The Madrid squad needed a win to get itself up to 38 points in the standings, almost over the threshold where, theoretically, it would enjoy another year in First Division.

Villarreal, meanwhile, have been unable to prevail in its last seven games in all competitions and are sixth in the La Liga standings with 51 points. Getafe is in 13th place.
