Keds Opens at Muliplaza Curridabat in Eastern San José, Costa Rica

If you’ve been missing a trusted shoe source, you may be happy to know Keds has opened its doors at the Curridabat (eastern San José) Multiplaza shopping center.

The new store has more than 200 shoe style distributed throughout the 50 square meter outlet.

“The brand has gone through a renewal. It went from the classic silhouette, which it retains but now with a triple sole, more sporty designs, and added technology, including anti-slip and waterproof features,” said José Marín, Costa Rican Keds marketing manager.

The investment required for the new store was around US$50 thousand.

Keds, headquartered in Lexington, Massachusetts, is known for its canvas shoes with rubber soles. Founded in 1916, the company is owned by Wolverine World Wide. The original shoe design, the Champion, was the first mass-marketed canvas-top sneaker.

With more than 220 cultural, gastronomic, commercial and entertainment locales, Mulitplaza Curridabat offers top national and international brands as well as exclusive restaurants; modern movie theaters, a financial center, and department stores.

The shopping center is open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The phone number for inquiries is 2504-5555.
