The Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia, Guanacaste is the best terminal in Latin America and the Caribbean in quality of services to travelers according to the Airport Service Quality Awards.
The annual Airport Service Quality Awards recognize and reward the best airports in the world according to an ASQ Departure Survey and the ASQ Arrivals Survey. “These awards represent the highest possible accolades for airport operators and are an opportunity to celebrate the commitment of airports worldwide to continuously improving the passenger experience”, explains the Airports Council International website.
ASQ is the only global airport survey based on measuring passengers’ satisfaction taken while they are at the airport.
The Liberia Airport received the award in the category of terminals with under 2 million passengers a year. This airport registered a total of 1,125,170 passengers in 2018.
Courtesy, friendliness, efficiency of the staff as well as airport security and cleanness of the facilities were part of the aspects evaluated.
“This award recognizes the warmth of our personnel and makes us a reference in Latin America. All Costa Ricans should be proud of this country achievement which also illustrated the emergence of the province of Guanacaste as an attractive destination for international visitors”, commented César Jaramillo, general manager of Coriport, concessionaire of the terminal.
