Lisbeth Vindas and Leon Glazner Take the First Date of the Kolbi National Surf Tournament

The first date of the “Kölbi” National Surf Tournament, where the “Pro Medical Team -Energy Law Firm” was at stake, took place this past weekend (January 27 and 28) in Playa Dominical saw great wave action and intense competition.

Leon Glatzner a native of Pavones, took the Male Open category, his combination of surfing and aerial game earned him 7.00 + 6.87 marks; while Lisbeth Vindas from Jaco was the best in the Female Open category, earning a 10.67 and leaving Rubiana Brownell, Serena Nava and Zulay Martinez behind.

“I am very happy that Dominical always delivers great waves. I’ve been coming to Dominical for many years now, and the truth is that the waves never fail. I am looking forward to a good battle in this new tournament”, stated Vindas.

“This year its been seven years since I am participating in the National Tournament. I have dreamed of this day since I was a child, and to make it happen with these waves and against such great rivals makes me very proud”, commented Glatzner.

The revelation in this event was Sam Reidy, a local from Dominical who took the first place in the Junior (U18) category with a score of 8.10 + 6.5

The next date of the tournament is February 24-25 at Puerto Viejo, Limon.
