Meet the US Ambassador to Costa Rica : Sharon Day

The US Ambassador to Costa Rica, Sharon Day, introduced herself through a video published on Facebook, Day revealed she fell in love with the country during a family trip where she visited the country to enjoy its nature and biodiversity.

Day was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas but lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the past 25 years. She has been part of the U.S. Republican party for more than 20 years.

As the ambassador, I will draw upon my business experience to strengthen the economic and commercial ties between our two countries”, states Day in her video.

“We know that a strong democracy and a prosperous economy requires safety and security, to this end I will continue to strengthen the joint security cooperation between our countries and support efforts to keep Costa Rica safe and secure, continued the ambassador.

Day was named by President Donald Trump to replace former ambassador Stafford Fitzgerald Haney.
