This article may have caught you way off guard, but you would not believe how much of an underground Harley Davidson and Motorcycle culture their is in Costa Rica until you head over to the Motor Psychos Bar and Grill in Santa Ana.

When you pull into the parking lot, you notice that everyone is kind of doing their own thing. There is a calm chaos in the air, the servers don’t respond to cat calls or pick up lines, the adjacent mechanical shop is full of tattooed bikers, and the pool tables in the back whisper in your ear to let your hair down and have some fun.

The menu is pretty straight forward, typical bar food in any city of the US or Canada. But that is what is so special about it, you cannot get the traditional bar food you would get in Seattle down here in Costa Rica at very many locations. The Ticos try to provide similar food, but the difference in culture loses many things in translation.

This is where Motor Psychos Bar and Grill shines, their Buffalo Wings are literally dripping with Franks Red Hot sauce, and the size of the wings themselves would make you think they came off of an Eagle, but obviously that is not the case. The Buffalo Wings always come with a side of veggies and blue cheese dip.

Once you get through your Buffalo Wings, which will set you back about 4,000 Colones for 12, walk over to the mechanical shop and take a look at the custom Hot Rods and Bikes they are building. Certain times of the year they also have live music festivals and you can get tattoo work done.

Just remember to keep an eye on how many beers you have, the server girls like to flirt with you and then add a few extra beers to the bill hoping you won’t notice, but that happens everywhere, not just here.

Stick to the Imperials and the Pilsen as well, those will run you about 1000 Colones each, the Coronas are much higher at 2000, but what are you doing asking about the Corona prices in a Biker bar anyway! Grab some Jack Daniels Whiskey instead!

You can find Motor Psychos Bar and Grill 1.8 km West of the Red Cross in Santa Ana, you will have to go over a small bridge and then look to your right down the road and you will see a big sign, you can’t miss it!
