SIGN UP FOR OUR The week of June 6 was a study in contrasts — The 75th anniversary of the World War II D-Day invasion with President Donald Trump standing with surviving heroes in Normandy, France; First Lady Melania Trump hugging and giving high-fives to the D-Day veterans as Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi urges “prison” for the president.
Nowhere in mainstream media did anyone bother to mention that presidential contender U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy was murdered on this date in Los Angeles after winning the California primary some 51 years ago. That’s worthy of remembrance but history somehow has a way of being forgotten in this day and age of fake news when statements like that of Pelosi have a way of taking center stage over real news and honest history.
Now the Democrats are raising some hell over President Trump’s desire to hold the nation’s 243rd birthday rally at the Washington Monument on July 4 – less than a month away. This is an example of the power of the incumbency for this president to hold the mother of all rallies taking center stage as the nation and the world looks on. His opponents contend the July 4 proposed rally would be nothing more than a Trump campaign rally complete with statements bashing the Democrats and the fake news media. Chances are those claims are probably accurate, but so what?
Just how is this president to fight back against all the negativity being thrown at him constantly by the Washington Democrats and their lapdog media? To see this president flanked by the Washington Monument ablaze with a monumental fireworks display might be inspiring for those real American citizens that want to see the United States of America continue on for another 243 years with the U.S. Constitution that it started with. Why not celebrate the nation’s birthday with the president out front taking the lead and rejoice in freedom that was hard fought for.
Pelosi’s statements last week, however, take the cake. Someone squealed on Pelosi and now she’s paying the price. Behind closed doors deep in the smoke-filled caverns of Congress Pelosi reportedly said “I don’t want him impeached, I want to see him in prison.” According to a news story in Politico.com its Pelosi’s wish for President Trump to lose the presidency in 2020, then proceed to prosecute the president for alleged crimes.
Pressure is gaining on Pelosi to begin impeachment proceedings in the U.S. House but she is still reluctant to do so. Her “prison” comments have really stirred up the impeachment pot sitting there on the stove.
“Pelosi has long argued that certain conditions must be met before Democrats begin impeachment – public support and strong bipartisan backing – neither of which have so far materialized,” according to the Politico report.
Last week Pelosi met with House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) plus House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA.) and Foreign Affairs Chairman Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.)
Pelosi, Nadler, Schiff, Cummings, Neal and Engel are all ‘never Trumpers.’ The main point of their meeting was to convince Pelosi to begin the impeachment process and let it take on a life of its own. They are all involved in multiple investigations into President Trump, his finances, his family, along with past and present staff. They are consumed and obsessed with ‘get’ Trump.
