OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA, JUN 20 (EFE; betting context by IDSca.com). — LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first National Basketball Association title with a 93-89 win over the Golden State Warriors.
James had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in Sunday night’s deciding Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
The win gave James his third title in the six straight NBA Finals he has been in, but his first with the Cavaliers, who won the first title by any professional sports team in Cleveland in 52 years.
James, who won two NBA titles with the Miami Heat, and the Cavaliers are the first team to win the league’s title after being down 3-1 in the series.
Sportsbooks in Costa Rica saw heavy wagering on Game 7. According to leading Pay-Per-Head provider IDSca.com, betting lines opened in favor of the Warriors at 7/4.
Bettors who wagered on the Cavaliers faced initial odds of 5/2, just above those of the fallen San Antonio Spurs at the start of the season. The biggest prop bet was on the Cavs to prevail after falling 3-1 in the finals.
