Isla Chiquita Glamping is the name of the new luxury glamping option in Costa Rica, located in Jesusita Island in the Nicoya Gulf, Puntarenas and that opened in April this year.
For those of you not familiar with the term Glamping, it means “Glamorous Camping”, an option that combines the thrill of the outdoors experience but without sacrificing the comfort of a hotel.
This new concept is part of Grupo Islita, and according to General Manager Marco Thomas, with the idea of presenting innovative options to the national and foreign tourist. This is their third hotel in the country, the other two are Punta Islita Hotel in Nandayure Guanacaste and El Silencio Lodge in Bajos del Toro.
Isla Chiquita Glamping has 15 glamping-tents of close to 35 square meters each (376.7 square feet), equipped with a king size bed, day bed lounger, private shower and bathroom with double sinks, ceiling fans and a lounging deck. Rates go from $215.00 plus tax through December 19th and $375.00 plus tax for the holiday season, December 20th through January 2nd.
Jesusita Island is known as a perfect destination for sports fishing, but other activities that can be enjoyed in the area include Kayaking and Stand up paddle boarding (SUP); the phenomenon of bioluminescence can also be witnessed here. When it comes to dining options Aunt Nora offers a complete menu of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack options.
In order to get to Jesusita Island you need to take a short boat ride from Paquera Puntarenas, there’s a safe parking option where you can leave your car and you’ll be charged per night.
