One Costa Rican Beach Ranks Among Top 25 Beaches in the World

TripAdvisor, the travel planning and booking site revealed its Travellers’ Choice ranking of Top 25 beaches in the world, and this year this listing includes a beach on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, the beautiful and peaceful Punta Uva.

Created in 2002, the Travellers’ Choice Awards are based on the quantity and quality of traveler reviews and ratings for beaches on TripAdvisor, gathered over a 12-month period.
Positioned number 24 in the rankings, Punta Uva which is located in the South Caribbean is a beautiful beach of calm and crystalline waters with tanned sand, great swimming conditions, usually quiet and relaxing.

Most of the area of Punta Uva Beach is located within the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, the beach is therefore surrounded by lush nature and it is not uncommon to spot howler monkeys, sloths, many birds and other wild animals.

The gorgeous Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos won the top honor as the best beach in the world this year, up from the number two ranking last year and reclaiming the top spot it held in 2016. Florida’s Clearwater Beach was the number one beach in America, up three spots from its U.S. ranking one year ago, and capturing the top spot in the country it held in 2016.

Punta Uva was the only beach in Central America to be included in the ranking. Last year it was Manuel Antonio beach that made the listing in position 23.
