The Judiciary Investigative Police confirmed this Thursday morning they had located the head of the victim whose remains were found in Escazú, San José, on Wednesday after a dog was seen with a human arm in its snout.

The human remains correspond to a 28-year-old woman identified as Stephanie Paola Castro Mora who had recently moved to downtown San José from Pérez Zeledón. The woman was identified through the tattoos on her left arm (an anchor with names, hearts on her fingers and others).

According to preliminary information, she would have been killed three to four days back. In fact, on Facebook, the woman made her last post October 31st.

OIJ received a report on Wednesday afternoon of a dog that had been seen carrying a human arm in the area of Bebedero in Escazú, authorities immediately began the search and with the help of the K9 unit they were able to locate the torso and the legs, the head was found this Thursday morning. The right arm has not yet been found.

The woman had no criminal record. The case is currently under investigation.
