For the month of February, the Costa Rican Government announced some changes in the sanitary restrictions.

When it comes to vehicular transit restrictions the weekend schedule will be extended for an additional hour, which means cars (restricted still by plate number) will be allowed to transit between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. The weekend restriction by plate number remains in place for February, meaning that cars with plates ending on even numbers can circulate on Saturday while cars with plates ending on even numbers can circulate on Sundays.

Weekday vehicular transit restriction remains without any changes, transit is allowed from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and restriction applies by plate number once a week.

Monday: cars with plates ending on 1 and 2 (cannot transit)
Tuesday: cars with plates ending on 3 and 4 (cannot transit)
Wednesday: cars with plates ending on 5 and 6 (cannot transit)
Thursday: cars with plates ending on 7 and 8 (cannot transit)
Friday: cars with plates ending on 9 and 0 (cannot transit)

Beaches will be open from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Bars and casinos can operate to a maximum 50% capacity.

National Parks can operate at 100% of their capacity.
