San Jose will vibrate with activities in December

December comes this year with a full agenda of entertainment in Costa Rica. The Municipality of San Jose, already confirmed the 21st edition of the now traditional Festival de la Luz (Parade of Light) which this year will take place Saturday, December 17 starting at 6 p.m.

The Festival de la Luz will have the participation of 14 decorated floats, 15 bands and several cheer-leading groups, in 2015 only 6 floats and 10 bands participated.

Johnny Araya, mayor of San Jose, said he is really looking forward to having the best Festival de la Luz yet, and disclosed the new logo which went from a yellow shooting star to a blue star with orange and light blue colors.

We want to have activities almost every day leading to Christmas, and we hope to that, we want San Jose to be a city full of life, cheerful… A city that allows people to come and enjoy one of the most beautiful times of the year; we want December to be the month when the capital vibrates”, commented Araya.

Besides the Festival de la Luz, the Carnival, the Zapote traditional fair, and the horse parade, the Municipality is planning several activities open to the public, take note, and make time to enjoy some or all of them:

Christmas will officially begin in San Jose on Friday, December 2, when at 6 p.m. in the already renewed Plaza de la Cultura the event of illumination of the city will take place, this activity is organized by the Municipality and Movistar and will offer a concert by the Youth Symphonic Orchestra .

On Saturday, December 3, Universal Stores will have a Christmas Parade along the Central Avenue Boulevard, a presentation in the National Theater gardens at 6pm by the Coral Chorus and later the event San Jose Nuestro Runway (San Jose Our Runway), the second edition of Traffic Museum.

The Philharmonic Orchestra will be in a presentation on December 10 at 7 p.m. in front of La Soledad Church in China Town
