Former legislator and current mayoral candidate Mireya Zamora Alvarado is very upset over a hacked Facebook account and a leaked sex video that purportedly features her in an intimate act with her romantic partner.

The commotion started earlier this week after a social media update on the candidate’s Facebook Timeline showed a pornographic clip, which showed a couple engaged in a sexual act. The woman in the sex video looks a lot like candidate Zamora; nonetheless, a news media investigation has proven otherwise.

It so happens that the woman in the video is not candidate Zamora; she is actually Fabiola Barros, a Brazilian woman who often performs in amateur pornographic video productions that are very popular in South America. Ms. Barros is just as sexy and attractive as candidate Zamora, and the resemblance is remarkable.

Naturally, entertainment reporter Ariel Chaves Gonzalez of daily tabloid Diario Extra just had to interview candidate Zamora about the incident. The candidate was not amused; she stated that her Facebook account was hacked for the purpose of executing a political hit against her candidacy and her party. To this effect, candidate Zamora explained:

“The only thing I can say is that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. I can’t say anything more than that; this is a dirty political hit against me. I can’t speculate as to who may have done this, perhaps a rival candidate.”

As might be expected, the sex video in question has caused plenty of controversy in Costa Rica because it was leaked just days before the nationwide municipal elections, which are expected to draw a significant amount of enfranchised and political active of young Millennial voters. The electoral campaigns have been spiced up by former lingerie and bikini models running for municipal seats.

Candidate Zamora is a career politician who is running for Mayor of San Carlos, a powerful agricultural and touristic municipality of the Alajuela province. She is currently running on the Social Christian Republican Party, a conservative political faction that mostly operates at the municipal level in Costa Rica.
