Happy clients at Sunset Surf Camp in Dominical
Boom! Sunset Surf Camp and One Percent For The Planet have come together and agreed on promoting some of today’s most vital values: living a healthy lifestyle while keeping the planet healthy!
This recent affiliation has got Sunset Surf owner Dylan Park and his staff ebullient and inspired. The two entities have formed a complimenting alliance whose core ideal is that of promoting eco-friendly practices such as eco-tourism, as well as contributing to keeping both nature’s and people’s health at an optimal level. This recent affiliation incites Sunset Surf to continue a strong promotion of a sustainable surf tourism within the area’s both stable and nomadic community.
“We continue to do our part in making the planet a better place for future generations and aligning with One Percent for the Planet will stand testament to this goal”, says Dylan Park.
One Percent For The Planet was started up by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies, back in 2002. These two entrepreneurs shared a common wisdom that allowed their businesses to flourish: they saw that protecting the natural resources that kept their businesses going was the secret, not only to a successful business, but also to a tranquil conscience and a feeling of fulfillment based on the promotion of harmoniously coexisting with Mother Earth.
One Percent For The Planet’s contributing members support thousands of nonprofit organizations that help to protect land, water, and forests, as well as instilling sustainability into agricultural and energy production, detoxifying the environment, removing plastics from the oceans, and more. Numerous companies contributing to One Percent For The Planet are proudly promoting the healthy, symbiotic practices of its nonprofit partners everywhere by donating 1% of their sales directly to the sustainability-focused non-profit of their preference. One of the roles of 1% in this process is to carefully monitor for track record, veracity and impact.
Smack right along the shores of the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica, many a lucky tourist will come upon the Sunset Surf Camp, a placid and rustic pocket of Costa Rican-style, sandy hospitality and delicious free-spirited beach enjoyment. Tucked at the base of the tropical rainforest of the majestic Talamanca Mountains, this surf camp is a favorite in the petite but charming surf village of Dominical. Five years spent by the Park family in the area were enough to convince one of their youngest sons, Dylan Park, that his destiny would be to move back to the family farm and start up a boutique surf camp.
And what better place to do this than Playa Dominical, a world-class beach break with waves for all levels (amateur to advanced), also considered to be the most consistent surf spot in the country!
Sunset Surf Camp is situated in one of the coolest beach towns in the country. Dominical hosts a surprisingly vibrant nightlife for being a relatively small town. There are great bars and restaurants, and live music and spontaneous parties are not uncommon. Sunset Surf Camp always makes sure to keep you tuned in to what’s going on all over town. Apart from the night fun, there is a variety of activities to enjoy during the day such as waterfall hikes, ocean and river kayaking, horse-back riding on the beach, and world-class fishing. There is also a large souvenir fair set up by mainly local artisans where one can delight in finding the perfect souvenir. Massage and healing centers are also available for relaxing tired muscles, and one can find a number of Spanish schools that will help any foreigner in learning the local lingo. It is clear that Sunset Surf has developed expertise in promoting a love for nature, for healthy living, and for contributing to the local economy.
Dylan Park has designed several Costa Rica Surf travel packages to suit a wide range of customer needs. These include an airport pick-up, an array of accommodation options, and one or two adventure tours – depending on the length of the trip. One of the accommodation options, where Sunset Surf’s main office is located, is the Domilocos Hotel. This hotel is the most affordable option, and includes a tapas restaurant and sitting pool. Other accommodation options include the luxurious Punta Gabriela, which is a boutique B&B with great views. Costa Paraiso, which is a 3 minute drive from Dominical and is isolated among the most spectacular natural beauty, is another option. Among the packages Sunset Surf also specializes in surf lessons especially designed for children and women.
Thanks to the Dylan’s constant injections of energetic motivation and hard work into Sunset Surf, his budding Costa Rica surf camp now effusively celebrates their affiliation to OnePercentForThePlanet.Org.
