Nadja Purtschert, a professional snowboarder and surfer from Switzerland who also models swimwear and athletic apparel, will travel to Costa Rica later this year to learn Spanish, work on her tan, practice her surfing skills, and enjoy the beaches of our country.
While in Costa Rica, Miss Purtschert will be a student of Yalea Languages, a respected Swiss Academy that specializes in combining travel packages with language education in various nations. In the “Switzerland of the Americas,” Yalea Languages keeps classrooms in Heredia, Monteverde and Playa Flamingo.
According to the biography on her personal website, Miss Purtschert grew up in Rickenbach Schwyz, a small village in Switzerland surrounded by mountains. By the age of 7, after 4 years of skiing, she convinced my parents to rent a snowboard for her; from that moment on, she spent every free minute practicing her new passion.
When she was 15 years she signed up in a sports academy in Davos, where she specialized in park and halfpipe riding. Her first competition was the Burton European Junior Open; she later made the Swiss National Junior team. After winning the overall ranking of the FIS Europe Cup in the halfpipe and and the FIS World Cup, Miss Purtschert made it to the Swiss national team and started traveling the world.
When she is not snowboarding or surfing, Miss Purtschert studies pedagogy so that she can become a primary teacher, she also likes to ride skateboards and play guitar. Her athleticism and gorgeous looks earned her a sponsorship by O’Neill, the original California surf, snow and lifestyle brand.
