Not even the strong wind at the National Stadium prevented Costa Rican Kenneth Tencio from performing dangerous tricks during the BMX freestyle competition in the X-Knights event this Saturday.

This is the third time Tencio wins this competition; he recognized he had to take additional risks due to the level of the competition this year.

Tencio made his way to the finals with a double back flip that made the audience at the stadium roar with excitement. In the first two rounds judges gave him 80 points while, Xavi Pasamontes from Spain and Kevin Pereza from the United States both scored 79 points.

In the final round, Peraza suffered a fall while trying a front flip, which ruined his chances of taking the lead; Pasamontes had a very clean presentation at which point “Pollis” knew then that he had to do something to set the difference, motivated by the audience, he performed a front flip and then a back flip, “It was an all or nothing, because the level was incredible, I knew people expected a lot from me and I didn’t want to let them down, I wanted to give my best”, said Tencio after his performance.

Clinton Moore wins in motocross again

In the freestyle motocross competition it was Australian Clinton Moore who took the first place for second year in a row, Japanese Taka Higashino was the runner up, just one point behind Moore.
