Carolina Trigueros is a young fashion designer who loves to play with geometric shapes and colors. Her signature style is ultra-feminine; she is partial to fabrics that are soft and that gracefully hug the natural contour of the female figure.
Color is very important to Carolina, which is why she was selected as one of the designers behind the 2012 Color Fashion Tour, sponsored by Grupo Kativo and EPA in Central America. Grupo Kativo is the company behind the popular Protecto and Glidden paint brands. The Color Fashion Tour is an annual summer event that introduces Central American consumers and designers to colors and combinations currently in style.
In Costa Rica, the Color Fashion Tour stopped at the ritzy Hotel Intercontinental in Escazu. Carolina showed off her two collections. One of the collections is named “Different Worlds”, and it is based on a diverse and bright palette of colors that contrast nicely with each other. Some of the combinations include pastel blue with orange, pink and yellow, and purple juxtaposed with orange. The swimwear in this collection is based on geometric designs of the 1950s.
Carolina’s second collection at the Color Fashion Tour is named “Small Seeds”, and it is based on earth tones with red and green accents. The accessories feature floral and tribal designs.
In the past, Carolina has worked for New York-based designer Hunter Dixon, specifically for the Fall-Winter 2010 collection. Hunter Dixon’s designs have graced the curves of supermodel Marissa Miller and perennial tabloid favorites Lindsay Lohan and Maria Menounos. Carolina has also worked with Fleabags, a collection of trendy American handbags that are favored by Hollywood actresses Anne Hathaway, Brooke Shields and Sienna Miller.
You can see more of Carolina’s work at Cristel, a Costa Rica fashion line that specializes in lingerie and intimate attire particularly designed with Ticas in mind.
