If you are a user of the highway between Escazú and Caldera, (Route 27), take into consideration that as of this Thursday, June 8th the payment of the toll fees will increase in 120 colones ($0.21).

According to concessionary Globalvia, the raise in the fee obeys to the fluctuation of the exchange rate in the past few weeks.

The toll in Escazú will go from 350 to 370 colones for passenger vehicles; buses will go from paying 700 to 740 colones; 920 colones for 2 and 3-axle trucks that used to pay 880 colones; 4-axle trucks will now pay ¢1,630 instead of ¢1,550 and the 5-axle trailers will be charged ¢2,340, ¢120 colones more than they used to.

The new fees for the toll booth from San Rafael de Alajuela are:

Passenger Vehicles: ¢560
Buses: ¢1,120
2 and 3-axle trucks: ¢1,400
4-axle trucks: ¢2,470
Trailer trucks: ¢3,540.0

Atenas toll new fees:

Passenger Vehicles: ¢740
Buses: ¢1,480
2 and 3-axle trucks: ¢1,850
4-axle trucks: ¢3,270
Trailer trucks: ¢3,370.0

Pozón toll new fees:

Passenger Vehicles: ¢560
Buses: ¢1,120
2 and 3-axle trucks: ¢1,400
4-axle trucks: ¢2,470
Trailer trucks: ¢3,540.0

The concession contract gives the company the authorization to apply extraordinary adjustments when there are important variations in the exchange rate.

The last adjustment done was applied in January of this year.
