Santa Teresa Beach received hundreds of competitors and a big crowd that gathered to witness the Condominio Arenas Cup competition, part of the Kolbi National Circuit.
The result was certainly unexpected; Tomas King took the win in the male open category going against experienced Anthony Filingim and Noe Mar McGonagle. King got a score of 18.66 (9.83 + 8.83).
King proved his talent and quality once again, after taking the second place in Dominical earlier in the tournament.
“For many years now I compete in this date in Santa Teresa, the waves are always great, they never disappoint. Today I was able to demonstrate the level of surfing I have and it allowed me to win my first date in this circuit”, commented King.
In the female open category it was Rubiana Brownell who surprised by beating favorite Leilani McGonagle, and experienced Zulay Martinez and Eva Woodland. Brownwell managed a combination of 11.87.
The fifth date of the Kolbi National Surf Circuit will take place May 26 – 27 at Playa Bejuco.
