“Get the food you want, from the San Jose restaurants you love, delivered Uber speed”, this is the new business model that Uber is promoting in Costa Rica.
Starting tomorrow, the new app is available for Costa Ricans to order the food they love from a selection of over 250 affiliate restaurants and have it delivered straight to their door by an Uber driver.

The app allows users to browse through the wide selection of restaurants or search for the restaurant they want or a particular type of cuisine, place the order, check out using the payment information on file and just like ordering an Uber ride you can also track the order which according to them should not take more than 35 minutes.

Some of the participating restaurants include: Spoon, Ili Vanili, Azafran, Bespoke Burrito, Carl’s Jr. , Saul Bistro, La Hamburguesia, Doña Dona, Poke, La Cebichera, Juan Valdez, among many others.

Initially the service will only be available in San Jose and some areas of Heredia and Tres Ríos; as the project grows its coverage will extend to all areas where Uber works and outside of the Great Metropolitan Area.
Uber is receiving delivery partner registrations from not only car drivers but also motorcycles and bikes.
This platform is already available in 30 different countries.

“Our goal is to focus on creating opportunities of flexible self-employment while at the same time supporting local entrepreneurships and also strengthening the bases of the big restaurant chains”, explained Juan Pablo Ramos, regionall operations manager for UberEats.

Currently in Costa Rica there are two other companies that provide this same delivery service, GoPato and EatsOn.
