Costa Rica has no shortage of hotels and lodging options, from luxury eco-lodges to beautiful boutique hotels and low-budget comfortable options; there are also several very “different” and unique hotels and hostels in the country and we have listed below a few of them:

The Pipe House: The Pipe House is a small beach house with a unique concept located in Playa Grande, Guanacaste. This vacation rental offers 6 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and individual A/C unites; what makes them unique is that they are built entirely by hand within recycled concrete pipes, thus, the name. Four bathrooms , two for men and two for women, a ranch area with a fully equipped kitchen and BBQ are part of this wonderful house located just a two minute walk from the beautiful Playa Grande.

Maquenque Eco-Lodge: Here you can stay in a treehouse nested 40 feet from the ground. The hotel is located in the beautiful region of San Carlos, surrounded by untouched forest. The view is spectacular. The treehouses are designed for a maximum of 4 guests

Costa Verde: This one is very popular. Located in Manuel Antonio, Quepos, this hotel offers beautiful houses and bungalows, but the main attraction is the Fuselage Treehouse which is constructed within a refurbished 1965 Boeing 727 and it seats over cercopia trees. Two bedrooms, dining area, T.V. room, terrace, the plane offers complete comfort, a wonderful view and most certainly a unique experience.

Lapas Nest Tree House: North of Puerto Jimenez in the Osa Península of Costa Rica, this is, as the name gives away, a treehouse, but not just any tree house, this one has 5 floors, 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms and is constructed around a huge Guanacaste tree. Hot water and a/c are available and the views are superb since it is very close to the Corcovado National Park and within a private rain-forest reserve.

Finca BellaVista Treehouse Community: A place to reconnect with nature and with yourself, this place is ideal for those looking for adventure and relaxation all in one. Finca Bellavista has different style tree houses, both arboreal and stilt supported, they are comfortable and beautiful, but there is no electricity, the entire property is off the grid, and depending entirely on solar energy. The treehouses sleep up to 4 people. Finca BellaVista is located near the Panama boarder.
