Get ready for some great hoop in August when the University of Nevada men’s basketball team arrives in Costa Rica for a week of matches.
The Wolf Pack will take on the Costa Rican national men’s basketball team and also squads from Canada from August 18 – 26.
“We are so excited to take our foreign tour trip this year to Costa Rica in August,” said Eric Musselman, head coach, in a press release by the university. “A trip like this is an unbelievable experience for our players and staff, and it allows us the opportunity to grow together as a team. It’s great for the new players to bond and get closer to the older guys and vice versa.”
The past season was a strong one for the Wolf Pack which was 28-7 overall, said News 4.
The team took a championship title during the recent Mountain West Conference regular season, and also won tournament titles while earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
“While in Costa Rica, we will play five games against various competitors,” continued Musselman. “It will be a great opportunity for us to get out and compete against someone else other than ourselves. It will be a great gauge with where we are at as a team.”
