The magnificence of the Turrialba Volcano in Costa Rica, one of the current active volcanoes in the country and the second highest sitting at 3,340 meters above sea level (10,958 ft.), is showcased in this video created by Costa Rican Iván Salazar Cruz from Cusuko Fotografia and featured in the Spanish version of National Geographic Magazine.

The majority of the images were taken with the use of a drone, and it offers amazing shots of the volcano, its crater, its surroundings.

“I’ve spend days and nights next to the majestic Turrialba Volcano. About a year ago I went to see this volcano and I was only able to see the entrance sign because of the bad weather, since then I have been back many times to appreciate this amazing volcano from Hacienda La Central and its surrounding areas, there I met a lot of good people that have supported my project. The weather is not always the best, but I always enjoy being there, I’ve endured sun, rain, ashfall and strong volcanic fumes”, commented the photographer on a post on his Facebook page.

Turrialba Volcano is located in Cartago, Costa Rica and it has been presenting eruptive activity for recent years and still in the present time.
The National Park is closed for visitors but the beauty of the surrounding area is enough to attract people who enjoy just seeing it from a distance.
