VIDEO: Mexican MMA Fighter Suffers Horrible Leg Injury When Facing Costa Rican Jorge Calvo

Costa Rican MMA fighter Jorge Calvo was facing Mexican Irving Amaya in the LUX 002 event in Mexico City, Mexico, organized by Lux Fight League when the Mexican suffered an unfortunate and painful injury.

Amaya was preparing an attack on Calvo but Calvo was able to block the kick with his leg, unfortunately the Mexican fractured his tibia and fibula in a dramatic way. The accident occurred during the first round of the fight.

The scene was so difficult to witness that the Costa Rican fighter immediately had to look away.

According to Lux Fight League, 22-year-old Amaya underwent surgery and was already released from the hospital, he will have to be out of the octagon for a few months but should be able to make a full recovery.

This is a similar injury to the one suffered by UFC’s Anderson Silva in his fight against Chris Weidman.
