Dinoworld is a Costa Rican-owned and operated attraction for all ages and abilities located in City Mall Alajuela.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, December 20, 100 percent of  entrance fees to the exhibit will be donated to a Christmas program for low income children.

Dinoworld has 22 animatronic dinosaurs on display, some up to four meters tall, in a 1,400-square meter space simulating the magical habitat of these animals that roamed the earth over 65 million years ago.

Dinoworld’s multifaceted display includes scenery with detailed prehistoric vegetation, special lighting, large format digital images, and sounds that make the experience interactive and accessible to all ages and abilities.

Open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Dinoworld is located in Basement 3 of City Mall Alajuela.

Dinoworld Manager Hans Wust said: “We are very happy to bring a positive message and Christmas gift to all the children who are helped daily by the Works of the Holy Spirit (Obras del Espíritu Santo). We know that the resources they collect are very well used and help more than 50 thousand children throughout the country.”

The trails at Dinoworld are wheelchair accessible, and signs are in braille. Other handicap accessible features were designed with the Costa Rican foundation, Fundameco, which provides services and consulting to promote the inclusion of  people with disabilities in Costa Rica.

“If we invest correctly in children today, we can change the future of our country for the better. We chose dinosaurs, as they are majestic and symbolic creatures that can provide lessons for building a more peaceful, inclusive, less discriminatory society and encourage respect among children. Using them as examples, Dinoworld seeks to educate and strengthen children and their families by instilling positive emotions and values,” said Wust in a press statement.
