The low cost airlines Volaris Airlines began operating this Thursday, March 15 the new route Costa Rica to Los Angeles, California.
Flying from San Jose, Costa Rica to Los Angeles, CA, USA with Volaris can cost you as little as $300.00 (taxes included).
As it happens with most low cost airlines the basic ticket cost includes the seat in coach cabin and a carry-on luggage, but the passengers have the possibility of choosing additional options: different seats, additional luggage, meals on board, etc.
Low-cost airlines have contributed to an increase in the number of Costa Ricans traveling out of the country.
Volaris has had a significant growth in the country which has led to an interest of the company in increasing the number of flights and the opening of new routes.
Volaris is offering this route three times a week, two of the flights make a stop in El Salvador while the third stops in Guatemala.
“We are very excited with these inaugural flights between Central America and the United Stated, this makes history for Volaris Costa Rica. We are expanding our wings to unite families and offer our clients more options of tourism and vacation to and from our region to visit or know Los Angeles and from there other cities in California”, commented Fernando Naranjo, General Director for Volaris Costa Rica.
According to Enrique Beltranena, CEO of Volaris, this year is an important year for the company to consolidate what they have started. He also affirms that the company has had an impact in the cost of the tickets in general, he assured that since Volaris began operating the tickets in the region have lowered their prices by 55%.
Beltranena stated that their low costs obey to efficient operations that have allowed them to have the lowest cost per available seat mile (CASM) in Latin America.
Volaris will soon inaugurate their new routes from San Jose, Costa Rica to New York and Washington.
