The 15th edition of the Ross Foundation Walk and Run Against Cancer in Costa Rica will take place Sunday, October 7 starting at 8 a.m. at Paseo Colon, San Jose.
Like every year, this initiative expects to gather the attention of thousands of people, raising awareness on breast cancer and other forms of this illness that affect many Costa Ricans every year.
The 2km walk is completely free and does not require registration; however, for those that want to take part on the 5km or 10km run, these events do requiere prior registration, the same can be done online at caminataross.com or evolutionmarketingcr.com, the App Move, or directly in different stores of the Great Metropolitan Area, among them: On the Road in Pavas, Marathon Sports in Heredia, Athletic Corner in Cartago, Congo in Multiplaza Escazu, PLS in City Mall Alajueala, La Colmena Sport in San Pedro, Centro Sport in San Jose or the Ross Foundation in Paseo Colon. The registration has a cost of 12 thousand colones.
Once the run concludes the event will continue in La Sabana with free concerts and other entertainment activities.
According to Victoria Ross, founder and spokesperson of the Ross Foundation, this is one of the biggest cancers walks in the world.
The Dr. Anna Ross Foundation carries out projects for the prevention of different forms of cancer, it also has the goal of improving the quality of life of patients and their families, “the Foundation works on offering direct support to patients and their family members with the purpose of bettering their quality of life and offering them information through psychology, nutrition, physical therapy as well as giving them access to wheelchairs, wigs, etc. completely free of charge”, explained Ross in a recent interview
They work through sponsorships and donations and are currently selling T-shirts of their 15th anniversary at all the Gollo stores in the country for a cost of 5 thousand colones
