The last survey carried out by the Center for Political Studies and Investigation of the University of Costa Rica (CIEP-UCR) has presidential candidates in Costa Rica Fabricio Alvarado and Carlos Alvarado in a statistical tie.

The results of this consultation has Fabricio Alvarado of the National Restoration Party receiving 43% of the support of decided voters, while Carlos Alvarado from the Citizens’ Action Party had 42% while 15% (some 300 thousand voters) have still not decided who they will vote for.

1202 people were consulted by phone between March 19 and 21 and the margin of error is 2.8%. The poll carried out by CIEP-UCR back in March 6 Carlos Alvarado had 41% and Fabricio Alvarado 39%, with a margin of error of 3.1 which also had them then in a statistical tie.

Meanwhile, the survey by Opol Consultores published March 17 had Fabricio Alvarado ahead of the game by almost ten points, 36.5% vs. 27.7%.

The survey also indicates that 31% of voters will not exercise their right. The elections will be celebrated on Easter Sunday when many people are enjoying their vacation.

Which survey is right? We will have to wait until April 1st to find out.
