Winners of Costa Rica Film Festival 2016

The Costa Rica International Film Festival 2016 came to an end this weekend with the celebration of its award ceremony. This Festival presented 72 films from different parts of the world in an event that extended for 10 days.

The winners in this fifth edition were:

Feature Film category

Best Central American Feature Film and Best National Feature Film:

“Abrázame como antes” –Costa Rica (Hug me like you used to) –by Jurgen Ureña

Jury’s Special Award:

“El Sonido de las Cosas” – Costa Rica (The Sound of Things) – by Ariel Escalante

Special Mention:

“La Felicidad del Sonido” – Panama (The Happiness of Sound) – by Ana Endara

International Feature Film Competition

Best International Feature Film Award:

“Tempestad” – Mexico (Storm) –by Tatiana Huezo

Jury’s Special Award

“El Futuro Perfecto” – Argentina (The Perfect Future)- by Nele Wohlatz

Feature Film National Competition

Best National Feature Film:

“El Arbol” –Costa Rica-Cuba-(The Tree)- by Roya Eshraghi

Jury’s Special Award

“Los Konceptualez” –Costa Rica by Juan Pablo Castillo

Special Mentions:

“Cabeza de Orquidea” – Costa Rica –Spain – (Orchid Head) by Angélica Sánchez and
“Filip”-Costa Rica by Nathalie Alvarez
