In what has become a New Year tradition for Internet media analysts, the most visited network of pornographic websites in the world has released its annual insights and analytics report, which indicated that more than a third of its visitors from Costa Rica in 2015 were female.

Pornhub is part of a pornographic video sharing network that gets nearly one million visits per day according to metrics compiled by Microsoft Bing. The 2015 Pornhub Year in Review is filled with interesting insights about the online porn viewing habits of people around the world, and Costa Rica was mentioned among the report’s highlights for 2015.

It so happens that Costa Rica is one of about a dozen nations where women represent a significant proportion of Pornhub viewers. The global average of Pornhub’s female visitors is 24 percent, but Costa Rica exceeds that figure considerably at 36 percent.

It is interesting to note that women in Central America and the Caribbean also seem to be very interested in what the Pornhub Network has to offer. In Nicaragua, 40 percent of Pornhub visitors in 2015 were female; in Honduras, that figure was 39 percent and in Panama 37 percent. The highest proportion of women watching Pornhub videos can be found in Jamaica, where 44 percent of visitors were sex-positive ladies.

A similar situation was found in other Latin American nations such as Brazil and Ecuador, where the ratio of female Pornhub viewers was similar to Costa Rica in 2015. In these countries, women were more inclined to view sex videos featuring threesomes, lesbian relationships, female ejaculation, celebrities, and leaked sex videos.

Another interesting Pornhub statistic featuring Costa Rica took place during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, when searches related to our nationality increased by 145 percent, second only to Uruguay. As can be expected, the searches made by male visitors mostly happened during halftime, which is when candid shots of dazzling female football fans are televised. Women searched for nationalities mostly at the end of matches, which is when players exchange jerseys and walk around bare-chested on the pitch.
