Washington, Nov 6 (EFE).– A 32-year-old Texas man who is dying of cancer had his dream come true of seeing the latest film in the “Star Wars” saga in an exclusive screening before it reaches theaters in December.

Daniel Fleetwood, given two months to live by doctors last July, is a great fan of the saga, which led his wife to launch a campaign on social networks urging the producers of “The Force Awakens” to let him to see the movie before it premieres.

“To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniels final dream was just granted!!! Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true!” Fleetwood’s wife Ashley said on Facebook.

“Daniel just finished watching an unedited version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens!!! We would like to thank the awesomely talented JJ Abrams for calling us yesterday to tell us Daniel was getting his wish granted!” she added.

The special screening took place at Fleetwood’s home in Texas, and he has been explicitly barred from revealing the film’s content.

“Judging by how progressive the disease has gotten in the past two months, I really don’t think that I’ll be able to make it” long enough to see it at a theater, he had said earlier in the week on local channel KPRC.

On Tuesday, “Star Wars” actors Mark Hamill, John Boyega and Peter Mayhew expressed on Twitter their support for his wish with the message “A dying man’s wish to see #StarWars The Force Awakens Help spread the word : #ForceForDaniel.”

Abrams once granted a similar request in 2013, when Daniel Craft, another man with terminal cancer, asked to see “Star Trek into Darkness” before its premiere.
