If you were planning a trip to La Fortuna, San Carlos, take into consideration that as of this Saturday afternoon the two main roads to this location remain closed.
The access through the community of Los Angeles-El Tanque has been closed for the past 10 days because of reinforcement works in the area of the Fortuna river where the bride is being replaced; and yesterday afternoon due to the bad weather conditions in the area a 10 meter tree fell in the area known as Bosque in Chachagua, San Ramon, also blocking the entire road.
Under these circumstances the only access to La Fortuna is through the city of Ciudad Quesada; this means that drivers have to travel for 43 kilometers until reaching Muelle de San Carlos, when usually getting to this point should require only 8 and 10 kilometers respectively through the closed routes.
The heavy rainfall has complicated the arrival of workers to clear off the tree in the area of Bosque de Chachagua, but the access is expected to be reopen by this Monday; the route through Los Angeles-El Tanque will remain closed for several days until the works are concluded. We recommend to check your Waze before you make your way to this location.
