The official press conference to announce the performance of Cirque du Soleil in Costa Rica was held yesterday with the presence of Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio former members of the Argentine rock band Soda Stereo.

The show Sép7imo Día – No Descansaré (Seventh Day – I won’t rest) inspired by the music and lives of Soda Stereo will take place at Hacienda Espinal in Alajuela, the same location where the circus presented Varekai (2013) and Corteo (2015), during the month of February 2018; so far the production company Primo Entertainment confirmed 14 presentations.
According to Primo Entertainment, their company is working on getting all the necessary permits and they expect the prices to be more affordable than those for previous shows in the country. (For the show Corteo prices were of between $70-$260).

Sép7imo Día – No Descansaré (Seventh Day – I won’t rest) will be a family show, ideal for those that enjoy the Cirque du Soleil performances and of course for those that followed the career of Soda Stereo. Unlike other Cirque du Soleil shows, this show will have a standing audience.

The show that was a huge success in Argentina has also toured through Chile, Colombia, and Mexico, it will continue its presentations through Costa Rica and Guatemala, along with other Latin American countries before heading to the states of the United States that have big Latino communities.

Soda Stereo was formed in 1982 and quickly gained a lot of popularity in the late 1980’s and 1990’s in Argentina and Latin America, the band was formed by frontman Gustavo Cerati who passed away in 2014 after spending four years in a coma product of a stroke, drummer Charly Alberti and bass player Hector “Zeta” Bosio.; Soda Stereo is considered one of the most influential Latin American bands of all time.
