The Costa Rica Expo IT-COMM, formerly Expo-Telecom, is scheduled for November 3 and 4 at the Real Intercontinental Hotel; this is the seventh edition of the event which has consolidated as one of the most important in the area of telecommunications in the Central America region.

This event explores the new trends on Information and Communication Technology, from artificial intelligence, software and communication to internet of things, smart cities and big data, everything that will likely transform our lives from a tech stand point in the next decade.
Digital transformation refers to the response of the companies in trying to adapt to a wave of new technology that affects the consumers’ behavior. As technology continues to be part of our everyday life, companies are faced with the challenge of staying up to date with their technological strategies and work methodology to adjust to the new reality and evolve.

“This is an event of digital transformation, telecommunications and technology that expects to shed some light into what is going to happen or could be happening, so that companies and governments are made aware that they must gear their vision towards digitalization in order not to be left behind”, said Ramón Gascue, president of Expo IT-Comm.

Thirty national and international exhibitors in the sectors of telecommunications, Internet and IT will be showcasing their products and services. High level conferences by key note speakers will be taking place both days. Speakers include: Matt Bross, CEO of Compass Networks; Carlos Gallegos Associate Director at Ernst & Young Costa Rica; Karl Rauscher, Global Information Infrastructure Commission; Camelia Illie, Director of INCAE Costa Rica; Sergio Calix, Regional Mobile CSI Latam Google Mexico, Diego Molano Vega, former Minister of Telecommunications of Colombia and international consultant expert in digital transformation, among others.

General entry for visitors of the EXPO has a cost of four-thousand colones (around $8.00 USD). There’s also a Full Day Pass, for one or both days, with a cost of 70,000.00 and 140,000.00 colones respectively ($132.5//$265 USD) which gives the attendee the right to attend the conferences and includes lunch and a participation certificate. The event starts at 10:30 a.m. and concludes at 9 p.m. both days.
