Today at Azores, Portugal where the Vissla ISA World Junior Surfing Championship underwent its 6^th day of competition, Costa Rica’s Malakai Martinez and Oscar Urbina classified to the fourth round of category U-16; they are part of the 108 competitors that remain in competition out of the 371 that started last Saturday.

Unfortunately, Costa Rica lost today a lot of the other members of the team, “La Sele de Surf”, Aldito Chirinos in U-16 got as far as round 3, as well as the four competitors in U-18: Esteban Chavez, Joseph Mendez, Malakai Martinez and Oscar Urbina. Andre Chacon and Coral Wiggins had already been left out of the competition in the past day.

Costa Rica remains in competition with Oscar and Malakai in male U-16 and female competitors Emily Gussoni, Leilani McGonagle and Zulay Martinez that had already classified to round 3. All competitors will have participation again tomorrow starting at 3:20 a.m. Costa Rica time.

The strongest teams remain: Australia, Hawaii, USA, France and Japan.
