July 3 through July 7, at the Conchal Golf Club, Guanacaste the date and site set for the first U.S. Kids Golf Latin American Championship in Costa Rica.

The U.S. Kids organizes around 1200 tournaments a year across 15 countries, within the local tours they have three levels, the most important one being the World U.S. Kids Golf, the second level is the Europe and Latin American Open, Costa Rica’s stop will be part of this last one, in the second level of importance of the U.S. Kids.

This is the first time that the Latin American Championship is held in Costa Rica; the tournament will have categories 6 and under: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18.

“For this first year we are expecting the participation of close to 140 players from all Latin America, the U.S.A., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, if we have more than 140 participants we will open the space to play in two fields”, commented Alejandro Duque, director of the tournament.

There will be a national classification, linked to the National Rankings, that will determine the number of slots the local players will have. Those players that already have a direct status with U.S. Kids will receive an invitation letter directly from the U.S. Kids Association.

The event at Conchal Reserve Golf Club will begin July 3rd with a non-official practice, the official practice the next day and the competition will officially begin July 5th and will come to an end July 7th.

This tournament will be a chance to participate of the World Championship U.S. Kids that will take place in August at Pinehurts, North Carolina, the most important tournament in the Junior level worldwide, where over 1500 kids from 52 countries participate
