Establishment Labs Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ESTA) commenced trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market yesterday and celebrated a successful first day with an offering size of 3,715,277 stocks at an opening price of $18.00 for a total of $66.8 million.
With this initial transaction Establishment Labs intends to invest in a clinical study in the United States, informed daily La Nacion, with the purpose of continuing moving forward with their research and development and continuing their growth.
The price per stock closed at $24.75 and a total of 1,939,169 were sold.
According to experts in this area the movements during this first day in the stock market give the company a value of over $450 million.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Juan José Chacón-Quirós, joined by members of the company’s management team and family, celebrated the company’s first day of trading by visiting the exchange.
“Today’s listing on Nasdaq represents a significant milestone for Establishment Labs and our shareholders,” said Mr. Chacón-Quirós. “It’s an honor to be the first company headquartered in Costa Rica to be listed on a major stock exchange in the United States.”
