Costa Rican BMX freestyle rider Kenneth Tencio “Pollis” inaugurated at the beginning of this year his skate park “10cio Park”, he then left to Estonia early February to compete in the renowned competition Simple Session 17 where he managed an eight position, less than a month later he will face another big challenge as he heads to Cape Town, South Africa for the Ultimate X where he will compete this Saturday, February 25.

The 9th edition of the Ultimate X Action Sport Festival, will take place at the Grand Arena in GrandWest Casino. This event brings together action sports athletes in the BMX, FMX and Skate disciplines, who compete with dramatic stunts for a cash prize.

Before leaving to Estonia, Tencio had accepted he wasn’t in his best level, the fact that he didn’t have an adequate place to train and he had focused most of his time in the construction of his skate park, precisely to have a good place to prepare, had taken its toll, still, he was able to make the top 10.

This time, Tencio affirms he feels ready and in good shape, he hopes to improve his result from last year in this competition when he finished in second place, behind California native Pat Casey. In Ultimate X 2016 Tencio didn’t just finish second but also won the BMX Best Trick: Wall Ride to Flair Tail Whip.

“Although I’ve had a very short time to prepare, I have never recovered so many tricks and trained in such a tight schedule. I am happy with the results of the park, it will help me a lot to be able to train all year round”, said Tencio to national site Sports by Campbell
