The Costa Rica Hotel Chamber affirms that the big diversity of tourists that Costa Rica receives justifies the existence of a wide variety of hotels. In the country, you can find one star hotels as well as hotels for the most demanding clients that want and expect the highest level of service.

Even though many times the prices in Costa Rica are above those offered in neighboring countries, the number of tourists Costa Rica receives continues to grow every year. Last year the Costa Rica Tourism Board (ICT) reported a 10% growth which represented nearly 270 thousand more visitors in 2016 than in 2015 for close to 2.9 million foreign visitors, and following market research done by the ICT there is still a large number of potential tourists that can be attracted in different markets that are already being targeted.

According to a publication made by Costa Rican daily La Nación the most expensive place where you can stay corresponds to the biggest residence estate at the Four Seasons Resort in Papagayo Gulf, Guanacaste, Casa del Cielo, a 625 m2 (6,727 sq.ft.) luxury residence with stunning panoramic views and that can accommodate 10 adults and 4 children or 8 adults and 6 children; the cost? Around US$30,000.00 per night.

Villa Manzú also in the Papagayo Gulf and a preferred option of celebrities has a price tag of close to US$23,000 a night.

More affordable alternatives which also feature a great level of luxury include OCiO Villas by Casa Chameleon, located in Mal País, here the biggest villa, Villa Nimbu with three master suites and two additional bedrooms costs north of US$2,450.00 a night.

Other hotels also considered as luxury accommodations include the Four Seasons Resort, Hacienda Altagracia; JW Marriot Guanacaste; Los Sueños Marriot; Punta Islita; The Gaia Hotel & Resort; The Spring Resort; Nayara Springs; Mangroove; Westin Conchal Golf Resort & Spa, Andaz Papagayo, among others.

Prices for five star hotels start from $160.00 a night per person during green season, some of the hotels include continental breakfast, while the Westin is the only all-inclusive hotel considered as a luxury option.
