Hyunday Team pilot, Danny Formal, won the fourth date of the Costa Rica Touring Car Championship that took place this past Sunday at Parque Viva.
In an exciting event that had the most accidents so far in the CTCC, Formal was able to win the first place and cut the distance from the still leader of the general ranking José Andrés MOntalto from Toyota.

Ford driver, Felipe Vargas, lost control of his vehicle in the third lap and was left out of the competition. At this point Montalto and Formal were head to head disputing the first position when a rock hit Montalto’s windshield and caused it to break completely, this made Montalto lose momentum and Formal took advantage of the moment to get ahead. Montalto came in twelfth in this first heat.

As the second heat came around Formal was not about to lose the advantage he had won, and even though he had a problem with the breaks, he still managed to close first in the second heat with a time of 19:35.474; the second place was for Juan Carlos Alvarado from Suzuki who marked 19:35.396

The third heat had inverted positions so Montalto came out before Formal and held strong to the first place and he managed to win the third heat, followed by André Solano from Chevrolet, and Juan Carlos Alvarado, while Formal after some mistakes and a problem with his windshield, came in fourth.

With Danny winning this date there were important changes in the general table, Montalto remains in the first position with 196 points, followed now closely by Danny Formal with 191 points; the third place went to André Solano, Alvarado is fourth and Andrés Saravia, also from Chevrolet) is fifth.

The winner of the Yaris Cup which also had its fourth date this Sunday was Guatemalan Adolfo Castillo.
