Another edition of Costa Rica’s Art City Tour takes place today (Wednesday, July 12) starting at 5 p.m. and through 9 p.m. , this edition is titled “Vacaciones en Chepe” (Vacation in Chepe. Chepe is how locals refer to the city of San José).

Once again, the Art City Tour involves visits to different museums and galleries in San José; the goal of these events is to allow locals and foreigners to see the beauty of the capital city and the many cultural spaces that can be enjoyed and that usually are not taken into consideration by tourists.

The Art City Tour involves different routes, each of which can be enjoyed aboard a tour bus, on a bicycle tour or by foot.

Part of the novelties in this edition include a new exhibit at the Costa Rican Art Museum with 22 unpublished works by local renown artists Francisco “Paco” Zúñiga (1912-1998); the lot includes 16 original engravings; the value of which was of $38,000.00 . Only one of the five routes available at the Art City Tour will take you to the Costa Rican Art Museum, so if you are interested on this exhibit make sure to choose the right route.

This edition offers a total of 19 spaces including the Museums of the Central Bank, the National Gallery, the Penitentiary Museum, the Talentum Gallery, among many others.

This 45th edition also offers a route organized by the Tourism office of the San José Municipality which takes attendees in a guided tour of different parks and monuments, this option requires previous registration by email to [email protected] .

The Art City Tour is free, which means it usually attracts a large audience, if you wish to attend try to arrive early and register ahead of time, you can do this by filling up the form in the following link:
