Washington, Oct 12 (EFE).– Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler asked, through his lawyers, Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump to stop using the group’s song “Dream On” at his campaign events, according to a letter published Monday by the media.

According to the letter, obtained via the Hollywood Reporter Website, the attorneys remind Trump that he already had received a formal request to stop using the song after a campaign rally in Alabama on Aug. 21.

However, the real estate magnate has continued to use the song at public events, without paying Tyler anything for the right to do so.

“Trump for President does not have our client’s permission to use ‘Dream On’ or any of our client’s other music in connection with the campaign because it gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr. Trump’s presidential bid,” the cease-and-desist letter from the attorneys says.

Tyler has maintained a close relationship with GOP presidential front-runner Trump, who is a fan of Aerosmith and invited the singer to be a judge for the Miss USA beauty pageant.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Tyler was also invited by Trump to the first Republican presidential debate in August.

Nevertheless, Tyler now joins other musicians such as Jackson Browne, Tom Petty and David Byrne, who have all asked Trump to stop using their music. EFE
