May 14 is the established date for this year’s edition of La Luz Gastronomy Festival in Barrio Escalante which will extend from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m.
This is the fifth time this even is organized and it is already one of the most expected gastronomic events in Costa Rica.
Forty stands will offer different food options, design, art and culture just like in previous years, but this time there will be two novelties, the “Jardín Cervecero” (Beer Garden) and “La Cava Escalante” (The Escalante Wine Cellar).
In addition to the different stands, visitors will also find food trucks and activities for kids in an exclusive space denominated “The Children’s Street” that will feature entertainment for children different ages.
The festival will also offer an edition of El Mercadito a space for local artisans and entrepreneurs to showcase different products, artisan bread and pastries, locally produced cheese and handcrafted articles.
As usual, the event will be held in Barrio Escalante, in the 33rd Street, participating restaurants create for each edition a unique menu with the idea of offering a different, delicious and convenient experience.
The distribution of the area has considered resting spaces and canopies in the event of rain.
La Luz Gastronomy Festival was created with the idea of bringing together art, culture and gastronomy in an open space that helps the society share experiences and take advantage of the public spaces of the city.
Live music and other amenities help create a lively and fun environment.
This event takes place twice every year, in May and December.
